Giro “Jerry” Maddaluna
Founder & Financial Advisor
Jerry is the founder and lead financial advisor at Luna Financial Group, formed in 2010. He specializes in building deep relationships with his clients and working closely with them to help them achieve their desired financial outcomes. Jerry has a knack for bringing a lighter perspective and clarity to what is oftentimes referred to as the burden of financial planning. The clients Jerry works most closely with are professionals or business owners preparing for or considering a transition such as retirement, a career or position change, or the sale of a business.
Prior to founding Luna Financial Group, Jerry worked as an auditor with UBS Financial Services and Lehman Brothers (acquired by Barclays Capital). Through his experience in senior leadership auditing roles, Jerry gained a wealth of knowledge around how advisors help their clients, while ensuring they were doing so in a way that was both beneficial to clients and in alignment with regulatory standards. This experience eventually inspired him to start his own financial planning firm.
Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ, and started in the financial services industry in 2004. He has since earned a variety of licenses and designations, including his Series 7, 63, and 65, and his Life and Health licenses. He’s also currently working towards his Certified Financial PlannerTM designation.
When he’s not serving clients, Jerry enjoys working out at as his CrossFit gym; hiking with his wife Jessica, their children Amelia and Nate, and dog Teddy; or getting out on the slopes with friends. Jerry values good company, great food and exquisite wine, and has recently joined in the tradition of making his own wine at home.
Executive Virtual Assistant
Karen has over 10 years of progressively diversifying professional experience. For the past 3 years she has been an assistant managing a wide variety of clients from various industries and backgrounds. After graduating from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Karen worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant before taking time off to raise her children.
Karen’s passion for helping people become the best version of themselves really helps her to shine as a Dedicated Assistant. Her organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic combined with her strong journalism background and creative eye, make her able to handle any task or new challenge that comes her way.
In her spare time, Karen loves spending time with her family. Whether it’s running her kids to their sporting events or swimming in her pool and BBQing, family is what life is all about! Karen is dedicated to helping clients and families succeed and watching their dreams come true.
